What do I need for State Cup?
State Cup is the major tournament we play in each year. It is only for U-12 and older teams. The winners of State Cup in the U-13 and older age groups compete against other Midwest State Cup winners at the Region II tournament held the fourth week of June each year. The winners of the four Regional tournaments (East, South, Midwest and West) in the U-14 and older age groups compete for the National Championship in late July of each year.
Doing well at State Cup, placing as a semi-finalist or better, is often a requirement to secure acceptance at many major tournaments.
To qualify for State Cup play a team must play three games in a regularly scheduled league, and cannot have more than five transfer players. Transfer players are players who were previously rostered on another team during the season. The entry dates are very strict and must be complied with exactly. It is safest to hand deliver your tournament application for State Cup to the State Office prior to the entry deadline date. You will be allowed to add players to your Official State Roster up to the week competition begins in your age group, but no guest players are allowed.
