Kem grew up in Antigua where he played soccer for the U14 - U23 National soccer teams. He was also a sporadic member of Antigua's Senior National team from 1993-1996. Kem came to the states to play soccer for Oklahoma Wesleyan University (OWU) where he was a three-year starter. He received numerous collegiate honors including: being a three-year NAIA and NCCAA All-American Scholar Athlete, a two-year NCCAA All-American, Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference (MCAC) Player of the Year, NCCAA National Tournament Most Valuable Offensive Player for two years, and after winning the OWU 'Mr. Hustle award' for four straight years the award was renamed the 'Kem Thomas Mr. Hustle award'. He also served as Assistant Coach for OWU for one season. Kem played for the Leyton Pennant Soccer Club in England , Tulsa Roughnecks in Oklahoma and the Kansas City Brass. Kem has a National Coaching License. Currently, Kem who is a CPA, works for Sprint and serves as a team coach with the Club. Kem lives with his wife Carrie, and sons Samuel and Jacob in Olathe.
