The development of the сhildсаrе and kindеrgаrtеn systems in Singароrе took diffеrеnt раthѕ historically before reaching соmmоn grounds fоr соllаbоrаtiоn. All thеѕе роliсiеѕ have hеlреd to ѕhаре thе ԛuаlitу оf thе care, dеvеlорmеnt and еduсаtiоn оf young children in the childcare system tоdау. To benefit all young сhildrеn in сhildсаrе оr kindеrgаrtеnѕ, ѕеrviсеѕ for the еаrlу уеаrѕ need tо bе geographically and finаnсiаllу ассеѕѕiblе, оf gооd ԛuаlitу аnd address iѕѕuеѕ оf еԛuitу аѕ well. Thiѕ аrtiсlе aims to trасе thе hiѕtоriсаl dеvеlорmеnt of thеѕе twо services tо undеrѕtаnd thе evolving policies thаt lead thеm tо thе сurrеnt ѕituаtiоn in 2010 аnd to diѕсuѕѕ thе futurе оf сhildсаrе аnd preschool education in Singароrе.
Childсаrе сеntrеѕ аrе ореn uр tо 12 hоurѕ a dау аnd раrеntѕ саn орt for full dау, hаlf-dау оr flеxi-саrе рrоgrаmmе dереnding оn раrеntѕ’ nееdѕ. Early сhildhооd care, dеvеlорmеnt аnd еduсаtiоn come under the auspices оf twо Miniѕtriеѕ in Singapore: thе Ministry of Cоmmunitу Development, Yоuth аnd Sроrtѕ (MCYS) аnd thе Miniѕtrу оf Eduсаtiоn (MOE). The раrаllеl system is reflected in thе fасt thаt bоth Miniѕtriеѕ provide preschool еduсаtiоn fоr сhildrеn bеtwееn 4 tо 6 years old. Both have thе ѕаmе tеасhеr rеԛuirеmеntѕ аnd аrе guidеd bу thе Nаtiоnаl Kindergarten Curriculum Frаmеwоrk. The split system also аррliеѕ аѕ the MCYS fосuѕеѕ оn infаntѕ from 2 months to 3 уеаrѕ аѕ wеll. Thiѕ group does nоt соmе undеr thе purview оf thе MOE. Hiѕtоriсаllу, bоth Miniѕtriеѕ function independently. Hоwеvеr, ѕinсе 2000, there is a merger in thе rеаlm оf ассrеditаtiоn, tеасhеr ԛuаlifiсаtiоn аnd tеасhеr trаining. Other аrеаѕ оf соllаbоrаtiоn inсludе the dеvеlорmеnt of the MOE Kindergarten Curriculum Frаmеwоrk ѕреаrhеаdеd by thе MOE and аdорtеd by the MCYS for kindergartens in the сhildсаrе centres. MCYS iѕ in thе рrосеѕѕ of developing its оwn frаmеwоrk fоr the zero tо three аgе-grоuрѕ аnd will аttеmрt to bridge the рrоgrаmmеѕ оf thе diffеrеnt аgе grоuрѕ fоr a seamless flow in connecting to thе kindеrgаrtеn frаmеwоrk. Thеrе has been ѕоmе call fоr all рrеѕсhооlѕ to bе nаtiоnаliѕеd under the MOE but the decision iѕ to rеmаin ѕtаtuѕ quo as thе kindеrgаrtеn undеr MCYS аlѕо serves аnоthеr function — thаt оf childcare for wоrking раrеntѕ.
Tоdау, Singароrе rесоgnizеѕ thе imроrtаnсе of еаrlу сhildhооd dеvеlорmеnt аnd education аnd hаѕ оvеr the past years been wоrking tоwаrdѕ inсrеаѕing ассеѕѕ, imрrоving ԛuаlitу and еnѕuring еԛuitу. A child care center is the first place in which your child will learn to interact with other children for an extended period of time that may be of the same age group of different ages. They learn to be able to co-exist in a way that can suit everyone. This is the only place that a child can learn the fundamentals of different values such as understanding, compromise, respect, etc.
The child also learns to be able to trust adults other than their parents or their immediate family. They learn to value and build good and trusting relationships with the people who surround them. Humans by nature are a social being and they need to have people around them so that they are able to live a healthy and meaningful life. As childcare centers are a place where the child spends the majority of their time they are able to build friendships with the children that surround them. Some of these friendships can last a lifetime. This is the place where children can even learn the ups and downs of relationships as they are prone to have minor disagreements between themselves but the caregiver in the childcare center helps them get through these situations and lays the foundation for dealing with these kinds of problems in the mind of the children.
Childcare centers in Singapore have children who come from different homes and different cultures and religions this helps the child to be more socially aware and interact with children without any social prejudices. This is not only good for the childs present but will help them grow to be better individuals in their future and make society a better place.
Childcare centers encourage group play and having a playgroup in singapore . This helps the children to learn to work together towards a common goal and also helps them to learn leadership and team building qualities. Child care centers are places where the child not only learns to take care of themselves they also learn to take care of and help others around them. This instills qualities such as patience, compassion, and empathy in the child. These are important qualities that should be developed in children from a young age.
The caregivers at child care centers are very well trained so that they can help in the overall social development of your child.
Most music classes will give you the choice of choosing between enrolling your child for a group class or choose an individual class. This is a major decision that you make that can also impact the way your child will learn the finer details of the art. Whether they choose to go for keyboard, guitar, or drum lessons they will need to be focused on the learning and you will have to try your best to facilitate this learning. Here is a list of pros and cons for both types of classes so that you can make an informed decision for your child.
Pros of group music classes
When your child is enrolled in a group class they will interact with other students and are able to gain valuable social developmental skills such as dealing with kids that come from other social backgrounds than their own. They will learn how to coordinate with fellow students so that they are able to play different parts of a song. They also gain better insights on the finer rules of music that include rhyme, reading of the music, coordination and also following the given instructions. By observing the other students in the class the child will constantly be motivated to do better and beat their competition. There is also a reduced amount of pressure that is associated with your childs learning in a group setting. They also get the chance to relax for a while once the teacher has moved on to helping another student. They gain more confidence and are able to play in front of an audience as they are used to playing in front of other students.
Pros of individual music classes
The major advantage that your child will get if enrolled for individual music classes like guitar lesson singapore and that the teacher is able to give your child personal attention and no time is wasted as the teacher does not have to pay attention to anyone else. These kinds of sessions are also easier to schedule as per your convenience as well as the convenience of the teacher. Individual music classes can help your child get better at sight reading. Sometimes a group class may become too distracting as the children will make friends between themselves and not concentrate on the class this can be avoided in individual classes. Sometimes excessive competition can have a negative impact on the child and it can lower your childs self-esteem and they may lose interest in learning the instrument.E nroll your child for drumming lessons Singapore today and see the wonders it does.
Nelson Mandela said, Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. Education starts at a tender age where being receptive to all sorts of information is observed.
Teaching is segregated into two major types, formal and informal methods of teaching in preschool in singapore The formal method is text-book type teaching where the classroom is the set-up and the students pay attention to the teacher as she explains new concepts. This method lays more emphasis on hard work and discipline. An informal method of teaching is also based on curriculum but the approach is not as that of a traditional classroom set-up. In this method, an emphasis is laid on a relaxed and friendly environment. Some of the core elements that make the informal method of teaching effective are:-
1) Motivation as the young minds are eager to learn everything, informal methods make learning easy and fun. The child does not realize that he is learning new and challenging concepts as the teacher uses innovative ideas to teach the concept as well as continuously motivated and encourages the child. As the child is willing to learn more, he is more receptive to new information. The concentration span of a child is very short. He is still learning to develop skills required for the concentration. But with the motivation and coaching of a teacher or mentor, the child learns to pay better attention in class.
2) Stimulate the thought process once the child learns something new, it is human tendency to want to share that information with others. If the teacher teaches and then doesnt revise the concept, misinterpretation or doubt may sink into the childs mind. Instead, the teacher must encourage and give an opportunity to the child to communicate the new concept. This helps solidify the concept. As the child requires time to put his thoughts into the right words, the teacher can provide descriptive words to enable them to share their new discoveries of the concept and to also extend their vocabulary.
3) Being active no matter the curriculum, the child must have time to move around. Going for walks within the school premises, playing on the playground, jumping up and down or enacting a story; the children are more alert when they get a well-scheduled break to play to improve good blood circulation.

KCU teams start the season off well. Our U8 Boys team not only played their first game ever as a team, they also recorded their first win as a team outdoors. The U12 boysalso played very well, in their first ever 11v11 game. Being down a player went into half winning 2-0 and running out of energy tied the game 3-3. The U14 Rangers played their first game of the season with no subs and ended up winning the game by a large margin. The U17 Ranger Girls playing up a year also were victorious, going undefeated this weekend in the GSI Friendlies.
Also, this weekend the U14 Girls Attack and U16 girls traveled to Graceland to play games against some of the area’s top teams and visited the campus. It was a great experience for all of the players.
